Overally, I like this layout. The placing, colors, textures and pretty much everything is pleasing to the eye and fit perfectly in to the subject.

There's just one thing that bugs me: The photo is somewhat too large. There are still tons of people who use 800x600 resolution, and on such resolution the photo fills the whole screen. This is somewhat questionable from the accessibility point of view.

Yeah I know. As a freelance web-designer I too know that sometimes customers have weird requests. However, I honestly feel that a good designer has the oblication to inform the customer when their request is not practical. In most cases, I personally have been able to persuade my customers that bad usability equals bad business.

(Don't take the "bad business" bit as an remark about your work, not intended.)
